We finally made a hinge bangle... and that's a big deal for us!! We get asked a lot, and we usually DON'T do hinge bangles, because a hinge often means the bangle was broken or has a really bad crack (things that Baikalla Standard just wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole). A solid, unbroken circle is always the more valuable, more traditional choice. But we also love doing customs for our Baikallans and this was a request we wanted to fulfill. Here's a tip if you ever consider one: the setting matters more than the look. A good hinge should carve into the jade to lock it in securely, not just wrap gold around the outside. That's what makes it strong enough to actually last. This one turned out gorgeous: lavender, green, with hand-engraved 18k gold.
