non-target is not negative , it's advantageous

So there's a new batch of interns that's just come into the bank where I work at and yeah again the same question came up of what university do I attend and I went to ask the university right and it wasn't a target and they were asking me how on earth did me myself in this current job market managed to secure a role having studied at Aston compared to other people who are at LSE, UCL, the Warwicks, also the Cambridge. And I don't take this question with offense. I don't think any of you guys who do go to target universities should take it with offense. Non-target universities should take it with offense. I see it as something that puts you in an advantageous position because you are that person who despite your university background, you made it in place of other people who maybe deserve to make it, but there's no reason why anyone else deserves it more than you. If you know the subject matter, if you put more time, more effort in than the other person, you earn your spot. And also asked me the question, did I feel imposter syndrome? I said no. I said no because I earned my spot the same way everyone else did. I may have went Aston, I may have went Aston and a non-target university, but I still graduated, I still got my degree, I'm still here and I haven't been fired. I'm not incompetent. So just let that be a thing to know that whenever you do go into these roles and someone asks you and you have that sense of imposter syndrome where you feel ashamed of your background or what university you went to, just brush that to the side and realize you earned your place, you deserve it, and it's even looks better on yourself than other people who are expected to make it. You are there, you are there because of your talent. So don't let your university background be a discriminatory factor of your belonging in your job or role.
