And if you're confused like I was, let me explain. The tradition goes back 2,000 years. When ancient warriors would twirl stones to build hand strength. And the idea quickly spread to scholars and everyday people. But they'd use these textured walnuts. And while they start rough and rigid, over years, or even decades, the sweat and oils from your skin will slowly polish the shell into this red, gemstone-like finish!
