Highest Paying Career Paths

If you have zero passion and all you care about is making as much money as possible, these are the only career paths you should even consider. First up is being a quant trader, but I'm not gonna spend too much time talking about this one because chances are you're not smart enough to enter this field. Because if you're going to a target school like MIT or Stanford or something and you're effortlessly getting hundreds of all your classes without going to class without needing to study or do anything, you're probably not gonna be a trader. I'm not gonna lie, but if I had friends who are like 20 years old interning for the summer, they were making like 120 bucks an hour. After you graduate, if you're at a high frequency trading firm like Citadel, Jane Street or Hudson's River, you can easily be making 500k a year starting out. Next up is an adjacent career path, software engineering at a big tech company. These days it's a bit saturated, frankly new, but if you know how to play the game properly and just optimize for passing the technical interviews and have a big company name on your resume, you're basically set for life. So you can grind for a couple years, but again, once you're in, you can just coast and make 200, 300k starting out. And the job itself is actually not that hard at all, especially with Claude. 3rd career path is finance. Starting out, you might be making a lot of money on paper, but then when you factor in how many long hours you're spending at work, you're actually not making that much money per hour. It's really hard to have a life outside of work in your 20s, but some people prefer that. So pick your grind. The next two I'm gonna group together and it's being a lawyer or a doctor because both of these require additional schooling. So you're gonna be in school to late 20s. Your life is gonna suck for a lot of years and you're gonna have a lot of student debt. But if you can tough it out for your early to mid 20s, you'll be banking later on. But again, you really gotta love what you're doing or else spending so much time on it because you have to optimize for good grades and really put in and dedicate the work to achieving med school or not. The last career path is do your own thing like starting a company. Social media makes this look sexy and easy, but let me tell you now that mentally it's probably the toughest because there's no roadmap. You gotta figure everything out yourself. If you lack conviction in yourself or are really bad with dealing with uncertainty, then it's gonna be really hard for you to succeed.
