So if you've been getting these messages from Econet, don't panic. This is not a scam if it's coming from Econet's official channels. Econet is updating customer registration, KYC details, to comply with regulatory requirements and some subscribers are being asked to verify or update their ID. You can safely update your details by uploading your National ID on the My Econet App or sending it to Econet's official WhatsApp number +263771222548 or uploading it via the My Econet App. So you're basically just going to update your ID details. You can also even do it through through the EcoCash app, if I'm not mistaken. So yeah, please take action because if you don't do that, they will probably remove you from the network. So just make sure you do it as quickly as possible or before the date that they may have given you as the deadline. So this is when you just see your line no longer working. And if you don't do that, then that's your own fish to fry if the line gets disconnected because they're probably just trying to crack down on those sim cards that I've just been used with malicious intent by different people to scam people, etc. So make sure your details are updated.
