This is part 2 of the bedroom makeover diaries. We're going to be turning this from this to this. To recap in part one, we took down the blinds, we took off the sockets. We sanded, we filled, we sanded again. It was insanely long. It took me a whole day to do one coat of the room. But I promise you, we've made some progress on this one. Cameron made a good start on our bespoke chest of drawers. He did have some really bad sunburns so I made him come in halfway through the day. He took up the carpet and to no surprise, there was no underlay. The floor was extremely hard. He drilled in the base for the drawers. What's this called? The base. I assume this provides some sort of support structure. There's going to be nine drawers and then there's going to be an oak top and oak fronts. But the inside is empty because we don't have that kind of money. Oh look, a second coat on the ceilings and the walls of fine cream. And I made a start with painting the skirting and the doors. Let's take a moment for my amazing cutting in skills. Oh my god, spending a little bit extra on a cutting in brush mixed such different. And painting these doors really made it feel like it was coming together. I went outside to have a look at our garden workshop and look at the drawers. Okay, it's getting intense because Cameron's spent a few hours trying to get this oak top to fit. I've got some measurements and I've scribbled it in perfectly except I need to do my walls again. Stay tuned for part three where we make some more progress.
