Creating My First Custom PCB Board

For the past few weeks I've been working on building my own e-reader. And I think it's finally time to move this project off of the breadboard and onto something a little more professional. With all of my past projects, whenever I'm ready to take it off of the breadboard, I would usually solder it onto a perfboard, just like I did with this project here. And although this looks a tiny bit better, it still takes hours to do and the connections still depend on wires, which can break if I'm not careful enough. So I decided this time to face my fears, learn KiCad and make my very first custom PCB board. With the help of these two amazing videos, I was able to learn just enough KiCad to design my very first PCB in just a few days. I sent the files to a manufacturer, paid about $50 and it finally came in the mail today. I wasted no time testing this out because I was excited, but also terrified that all of this hard work could go to waste if this does not work. I chose to wire up the buzzer first, just so I can test and see if any sound comes out. And once I got confirmation that that was working, I went ahead and soldered on the rest of the components, the buttons, the SD card reader, and of course the screen. And once everything was assembled, it was time to test it out. Hey girl! VICTORYYYYY YES! I felt a wave of relief and I knew everything was going to be okay.
