Some Chinese car dealers have started marketing directly to Nigerians and the prices are ridiculously lower than what our local car dealers are charging. Now, videos of one dealer have been trending online. You know, he's promising cars at shockingly amazing, you know, and affordable rates, with doorstep deliveries, especially to Lagos and Abuja. Let's watch the video. This is the best What? Changan uni-T ever for 19 m naira 19m (down payment) Full 29.5m you will get this car at your doorstep no matter where you are in Nigeria you will get this car I'm never joking come on look at this chrome this is sport edition Nihao for 21000000 Naira 21000000 (down payment) Full 33500000 Lagos / Abuja is a Hybrid version full option that means you can fuel and the car is amazing You see, I've been saying this on this channel long time. It was only a matter of time before someone figured out how to bypass Nigerian car dealers and sell Chinese cars directly to Nigerians. Is, right in front of us. Now, notice something about this man. He's not Chinese, but he markets Chinese cars and look at how he's marketing them. You know, the way he's dressed, the way he's talking, the energy he's bringing in. That is Nigerian marketing. That is someone who understands, you know, his audience, understands what makes Nigerians buy, and is using it deliberately to cut straight to the consumer. That is not an accident. That is strategy. Give you the context that makes this story very important. Nigerian Chinese car dealers have been operating on a margin that are honestly difficult to defend. And I've talked about it before on this channel. A car that should land in Nigeria and sell for around 60 million naira, some dealers are putting it on the market for 120 million naira. Double. On the same car, the same spec, the same everything. And for a while, you could get away with it because Nigerians had no alternative. You either pay what the dealer is asking for, or you didn't get the car. The information gap was their biggest asset. Most buyers didn't know, you know, what exactly these cars cost in China. And the dealers deliberately from them. Destroyed that gap. And now this is the result. Us to understand something about the Chinese and how they think about markets and business in general. The Chinese are not interested in selling few cars to a few rich Nigerians at inflated prices. That is not their business model. Their business model is volume. Their goal is cars on every road, on every city, in every price bracket, everywhere. They want the market, you know, to be theirs. They want market dominance, not margin. And when the people supposedly selling your product are pricing your product out of majority of your target market, the Chinese will find another way. They always do. Now, we already know where this is going. Assembly plants, local franchises, direct to consumer channels, you know, an official brand showroom, cutting out, you the independent importers entirely and all those things. It's not a question of if. It's purely a question of when. And based on what we've already seen and what we are currently seeing, that when is closer than most Nigerian dealers want to admit. And here's what makes it even more urgent for Nigerian car dealers specifically. Chinese electric vehicles are coming. They are not just coming. They are already arriving. And the pace is accelerating. BYD, CHERRY, GAC, CHANG'AN, JETOUR Name them. These brands are building EVs at price points, you know, that are going to completely reshape what Nigerians expect to pay for a quality car. The federal government just caught import duties on electric vehicles to zero. The infrastructure conversation is starting. The momentum is building. Now, A Nigerian Chinese car dealer 120 million naira price tag competitors are about to offer, you know, at half the price through direct channels, you are not in a strong position. You have a window right now to adjust your margins, build customer loyalty, and compete on services and trust rather than information asymmetry. That window will not stay open forever. Now, for Nigerian consumers, though, this is genuinely exciting. More competition means pressure on prices. Direct channels means more options. And a Chinese manufacturing ecosystem that view Nigeria as A PRIORITY MARKET MEANS BETTER AFTER SALES SUPPORT, MORE ACCESSIBLE PARTS, AND EVENTUALLY LOCAL ASSEMBLY PLANTS, you know, that Brings prices down EVEN FURTHER. The Nigerian car market is about TO GET VERY, VERY INTERESTING. SO HERE'S MY QUESTION FOR YOU. A CAR DIRECTLY FROM A CHANNEL IN THAT VIDEO, MAKE YOU NERVOUS? HAVE YOU ALREADY SEEN PRICE DIFFERENCE you know, that suggests this disruption is already happening in your area. IN THE COMMENTS. THIS CONVERSATION IS JUST GETTING STARTED. THIS IS MISTER ABDULREACTS
