Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences. DJ Chicken’s reported arrest by the DSS over alleged threats involving Seyi Tinubu is a reminder that criticism and threats are not the same thing. Nigerians have every right to call out bad governance, question leaders, protest, drag politicians, and demand accountability. That is democracy. But once your words cross into threats to someone’s life or safety, you are no longer just “speaking your mind” — you may be creating a legal problem for yourself. Activism needs passion, but it also needs sense. Make noise, yes. But know the law. Think strategically. Speak boldly, but don’t speak recklessly in a way that can land you in detention or be used to silence the bigger message. The goal is accountability, not self-destruction. #NigeriaPolitics #DSS #SeyiTinubu #FreedomOfSpeech #SmartActivism
