But here’s the part that deserves scrutiny: if the goal was genuinely to establish the truth, why avoid Peter’s subsequent attempts to communicate after hearing Jude’s side? You cannot investigate a dispute by giving one side access, hearing their explanation, then shutting the other side out. This is not about automatically believing Peter, Jude, or anybody else. It is about consistency. If you demand evidence from Peter, demand it from Jude. If you question Peter’s version, question Jude’s too.
