My server blocked attackers it had never met. 90,000 attacks today. Most I never even saw. Here's how. Bots hammer every server hunting for one open door. For years the fix was a guard called Fail2Ban. It watches your logs and bans whoever knocks too. It works great. But here's the part nobody thinks about. Your guard only knows the attackers that found you. Every server fights the same bots alone. So what if they could warn each other? That's CrowdSec. Same idea. Watch and block. Except every server running it shares each attacker's address with everyone. So when a stranger in another country your door already knows its name before it knocks. That's how mine blocked 90,000 it attackers I never met. It all runs on your machine not some giant cloud. Your door watched by the whole neighborhood. And tomorrow the counter climbs again.
