We're counting down the top 5 most in-demand tech roles in South Africa right now based on actual hiring data. We go from 5 to 1 and the salary numbers on some of these is going to surprise you. But before we get into it, make sure you hit that follow button right now and like career and opportunity videos like this every single week. And this is the kind of content we do here. At number 5, we have Cloud Engineer. Almost every South African company is moving to the cloud right now. The banks, the retailers, government, everyone. And people don't know how to manage infrastructure. That makes Cloud Engineering different from everything else on the list. It is the certification driven tech career. Employers hire directly off those credentials. No degree needed. Certification is the qualification. Then at number 4, we have Software Developer. Software developer vacancies are up 34% and it's currently the number one fastest growing job title on LinkedIn. Developers earn between 32K and 61K a month here. And if you're in Cape Town, salaries run 20 to 30% higher than the rest of the country. What makes this role special that it is the most portfolio driven career in tech. If your code is good, your GitHub profile can carry you into interviews alone. Employers see what you have built. No, at number 3, we have something with the highest ceiling on this list, which is AI Engineering. AI Engineers in South Africa earn between R700K and just over R1 million rand a year. Specialists in areas like natural language processing sit right at the top of that range. Every company is suddenly trying to figure out AI and them, people to build it. Is the opportunity. And you will not expect number 2. Most people assume AI tops everything right now, but data says otherwise. Have Data Scientists. Data roles are up 48% in vacancies. That is the single biggest jump of any tech role in South Africa right now. Bigger than AI, bigger than software. Business is sitting on mountains of data that they don't know how to use. Data scientists and data analysts who turn that into decisions. Average salaries sits around 744K a year. Cuts across single banking, healthcare, telecoms, government. The entry part is more accessible than people think. But at number 1, we have Cybersecurity. In South Africa, it's not even close. South Africa is the number one target for ransomware attacks on the entire African continent. Companies act, every company that handles personal data is legally required to take security seriously. The skills shortage in this field is so severe that companies are recruiting from overseas because they cannot find enough people locally. Cybersecurity specialists here earn 700K plus. And senior people in telcos, banks, cross 1 million rand. The gap between jobs and people is the widest. Means, field today, someone starting today faces the least competition in the way in. And none of these require by a degree. You can actually learn a majority of them through a bootcamp. If you want a link to that bootcamp, that is the quickest way to get into these industries. Comment BOOTCAMP and I will DM you the link. But also over the next few weeks, I'm gonna break down every single way that you can get into these careers step by step. So follow me so that you don't miss those.
