I want you to look around on the back of your camera and on the camera you'll find an info or info or a Q button or on this Sony it's Fn. I want you to press that button and then using this cursor on the back, I want you to move around these menu options. List of menus. Quickly change. Looking for is this one here, metering mode or light metering mode. And that's how the camera reads light and exposes. Now press the center button on your cursor button to go into that menu. And there we are. We've got multiple centre, spot, entire screen and highlight. Now you may of these but you will have multi or Nikon call it matrix or evaluative or ESP. And what the camera is doing, it is looking at the light that's in front, certain points, the shadows and the brightness and the darkness and the reflections of light and it's trying with the best photograph the centre where that little green square is, that the sky is blown out. See the details this. So press your information button again. Into those metering modes and go to the next one, which is center weighted. See automatically the camera closes down the brightness from that multi one to centre. Now it is placing the importance of reading light in the centre of the frame. Is that archway? And you can see the yachts. You still getting a bit of left hand side in those windows there. But it's placing the importance of reading light from the centre into your function button again. Menus and go to the next one. And this is spot metering. Wherever I move my focus point, see it moving, roof there. Then the camera is measuring the light for just that area there. That's where it's placing the most important. We're over there. Spot point is camera is measuring the light for. And so this is much more accurate way of exposing your photograph. This case spot works really well. This camera also has entire screen average where it's taking an average of everything that it's not just spots of shadows or brightness and then highlight. And highlights is it is placing the importance of reading the light for the highlights for the bright parts of the photograph. So you can see here as you go through your different measuring modes, how different it can make your photograph.
