Can we just acknowledge how absurd modern corporate work has become? Half of my job isn't finance anymore, it's remembering where someone told me something. Was it an email? A Teams message? Slack? A meeting? A hallway conversation? Somehow we're expected to remember every conversation across five different platforms while still getting our actual work done. We've normalized communication overload, fake urgency, and constant interruptions so much that nobody even questions it anymore. If you've ever spent more time managing communications than doing your actual job, you know. We've gotten so used to it that nobody questions it anymore. Email? Slack? Word doc? Meeting? Live convo? Team's slack? Meeting? Doc in? Managing info > doing actual job. We're spending more time managing communications than doing our actual jobs. We've gotten so used to it that nobody questions it anymore.
