Reminder that open-ended play/monstessori DOES NOT need to be expensive. But if there is an investment piece you want to buy or suggest to others, hopefully these ideas help. I’ll report back in 3 months which items were the most popular 🫡 1. Toddler tower- we have this and use it so Leo can easily wash hands, watch us cook and do dishes, and he’s loves climbing up and down it (always supervised!) 2. Pickler Triange- we have had this for a few months and Leo loves it! It’s helped make him a very confident climber. He also plays with his toys on it. 3. Stepping stones- we don’t have these yet but would love to get the @Stapelstein ones! The open-ended play opportunities are endless. 4. Balance bike- we just got this for his first birthday! He’s still learning how to ride it but think he will really enjoy it once he get it’s down. 5. Indoor playset- i would recommend both an indoor/outdoor one so you have more options. But this is Leo’s FAVORITE thing. He gets so much use out of it and has made him so confident to go down the slide on his own. It keeps him busy while we are trying to do things around the house. 6. Playcouch- another option for climbing, building forts, relaxing. I really think Leo will enjoy this once we get one and can evolve with him for years!! Indoor playset Hear me out a indoor swing set I accidentally bought this I meant to buy an outdoor one and then realized it was so we brought it inside and it has been probably our most he loves going down the slide he loves rolling slide climbing back up using the swing it keeps him and it's a fun way to move your body all year round so if you have the space highly recommend 6. Play couch and lastly a play couch or chair which can transform into forts obstacle courses reading nooks and so much more I find wanting to like lap more and have his own so I'm very one of these the figgy because it's like the non toxic alternative to the and they recently launched a cover made of cotton and then also the Toki a couch it has a organic cotton cover it folds out to turn into a lounger so I think they both look very comfortable and have endless opportunities some investment pieces kinds of toys for years instead of being few months but curious to hear from the moms if there's anything you would add to this list

Open-ended toys are toys that grow with your child and you definitely don't spend a ton of money to encourage open-ended play. Nature, cardboard and everyday household items all count. Grandparents love to spoil them, or a few people go in on together. Here are six ideas a toddler. 1. Toddler tower. We have this and it's been a big hit because it safely lets them join in the kitchen and build independence while turning everyday moments into play. We already have one of these and it's been a big hit. 2. Pikler Triangle. No. 2 a Pikler Triangle, this encourages climbing and gross motor development and so many different ways as they grow. These can be very expensive, but we got ours off Facebook Marketplace for much cheaper. So highly recommend looking there. Right now, Leo loves climbing up and down this and hopefully can be used for things like a fort. 3. Stepping stones. Next, we have stepping stones which can inspire endless obstacle courses, balance practice and imaginative play both inside and outside. And I'm eyeing the Staple Stein ones because they are high quality, but they can be very expensive. So there are some more affordable, but curious to hear from the moms who have it to see if it's worth it. 4.
