So today I'm making African black soap paste and I'll walk you through every ingredient and why it's included. First, I have my African black soap, which is naturally rich in vitamins and is for deep cleansing the skin and also helps reduce excess oil. Next, I have my humectant, which is honey. Honey is very important because it attracts moisture from the environment to your skin. Since I've come black soap can sometimes feel drying, I add honey to help reduce that drying effect and leaves your skin feeling more comfortable after cleansing. If you don't have honey, you can use any other type of humectant that are excellent in African black soap. Next is my emulsifier, which is the oil. So the oil that I use is coconut oil, and it's a very good emulsifier. It helps to bind the oil and water together, creating a stable emulsion. It also helps to reduce the drying effect of the black soap and leaves your skin feeling soft and comfortable after cleansing. I'm also adding oat powder because it's known for its soothing and calming properties and helps reduce the feeling of dryness. It also supports the skin barrier and leaves your skin feeling soft and comfortable after cleansing. And finally, I have my fragrance and preservatives.
