For over 20 years, ulcerative colitis tried to write the story of my life. It stole birthdays, holidays, memories, confidence, and so many moments I’ll never get back. It put me through unimaginable pain, countless hospital stays, surgeries, and ultimately a total colectomy that left me with a permanent ostomy. The physical healing is one thing… but the mental healing? That has been a LONG journey all its own. I’m still learning to give myself grace for everything my body endured. But one thing is certain: I won. 🙌🏾 I’m still here. Still smiling. Still dreaming. Still showing up. And every single day I’m reminded that my scars tell a story of survival, not defeat. My ostomy didn’t take my life—it gave me one. ❤️ If sharing my journey helps even one person feel less alone, less ashamed, or more hopeful, then every vulnerable post has been worth it. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your healing while you continue to be part of mine. Life after ulcerative colitis isn’t the end of the story… it’s where mine truly began. 💙✨ If you’re fighting an invisible battle right now, don’t give up. Your story isn’t over. There is life, joy, purpose, and hope on the other side. 🫶🏾 #UlcerativeColitis #IBDWarrior #OstomyLife #OstomyAwareness #InvisibleIllness
