Nvidia will now pay you $1000 to install a mini data center in the backyard of your house. A startup called Span has partnered with Nvidia to install an AI unit right outside your house. It's about the size of an AC unit. Here's why: Most homes only use a fraction of their available electrical capacity. Instead of letting that unused capacity sit on idle, Span uses it to run AI workloads. The hardware installed includes a smart electrical panel, a backup battery, and the AI unit itself. Inside our 16 Nvidia RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell server edition GPUs, 4 AMD EPYC CPUs, 3 terabytes of Nvidia Blackwell GPUs, Dell PowerEdge XE7745 liquid cooled servers, 24-port gigabit switch running real AI for cloud companies. The goal is to build thousands of these small AI nodes instead of waiting years for massive data centers. It's a completely different AI infrastructure.
