Can we just get a moment of silence for anybody that has a OnePlus phone? OnePlus is officially withdrawing from the United States and European markets. They will not be launching any more phones in America or the European markets. But why is this happening? Ever since OnePlus was officially acquired by Oppo, they've been on this different trajectory where they've tried to become more of this huge name and less catering to all of the phone enthusiasts. And so because in Western markets, they've been falling far behind of these more dominant players like Samsung and Apple and Google. And so because India and China already account for roughly 74% of all OnePlus shipments, not to mention their huge manufacturing that goes into these higher end phones, which is erasing their market advantage. The prices are going to have to start going up. And it looks like the parent company Oppo is going to be shifting the OnePlus brand to be strictly a budget-friendly brand that's supposed to go towards India and China. But in Western markets, we see like India and China, this is accounting for almost 80% of all their phone shipments. Not to mention their huge manufacturing that goes into these higher end phones, which is erasing their market advantage. The prices are going to have to start going up. And it looks like the parent company Oppo is going to be shifting the OnePlus brand to be strictly a budget-friendly brand that's supposed to go towards India and China.
