I found my birth family, but my birth siblings didn’t know I existed (storytime) 🥸 I’m still close with my adoptive family (they were really supportive of my search), and my search for my birth family had nothing to do with my upbringing. As an adoptee, it was important for me to find closure, and I’m happy that I was able to! Being raised in a predominantly white environment, learning more about my background and cultural roots was so important! Poverty impacts families from every country, and not everyone has access to certain resources. I am incredibly happy with the outcome of my search, and I don’t hold and poor feelings or judgement.
