LOCS

Locs are not for everyone. I think more people need to hear before they get locs. I think before you get locs, you have to ask yourself one question. Am I in love with the idea of having locs? Or am I actually ready for the journey? Because those are two different things. Some people get locs expecting an easy hairstyle immediately. Some people get them expecting instant confidence. Some people expect their locs to look like someone else's in six months. And that's usually where the disappointment starts. They don't grow overnight. They don't mature overnight. And they definitely don't all look the same. There will be moments when you wonder if you made the right decision. You'll see people with mature locs online and forget that they've been growing them for years. Locs teach you patience in a way that most hairstyles don't. And honestly, that's what I've grown to love about them. They've taught me to stop chasing perfection and start appreciating progress. So if you're thinking about getting locs, don't do it because they're trending. Do it because you're ready to embrace every stage. Because if you're only in it thinking you'll immediately get to the destination, you'll probably get discouraged. But if you fall in love with the journey, I think you'll understand why so many of us never look back.
