SCREENSHOT this for my list of what I'm grabbing and avoiding with this outbreak. What I'm buying + temporarily skipping during the Cyclospora outbreak as an NP + mom of 2 Here's the most important thing first: the source of the current outbreak has not been identified so there is no official nationwide "do not eat" list. But if you're like me and want to be a little more cautious while we wait for more information, l've made a few temporary changes at my house. I'm being more selective with raw, ready-to-eat produce and leaning more into foods we're going to cook, frozen vegetables I'm going to cook, and fruits I can peel myself. Still washing our produce. But washing produce does not guarantee Cyclospora has been removed. Cyclospora can be difficult to remove from fresh produce, which is exactly why I'm not relying on washing alone. Again, this is not an official CDC safe-food list. These are simply the temporary choices I'm making for my own family while the investigation continues. We're not panicking. Just making changes until we know more. Save this post and share with a friend whom needs the list too. #nursepractitioner #cyclosporaoutbreak
