The Odyssey Writing 😠

Something that I feel is very lackluster here and something that I think was pretty obvious from the trailers, some writing. Some of the lines just feel super out of place in this setting. What did bother me, the way he chose to write these characters. The dialogue in many instances holds a lot of this film back. And what do I mean by that? It's very jarring when you're watching Holland about dad to, you know, the people around him like, where's dad at? Where is dad? I wanna know my dad. I don't know, like that does jump out in context. It's not just Tom Holland, that's just the most notable example. Every character talking like with modern sentences conflicts tone the movie sets where it exists. I'm not saying it needed to go old timey, like Finnegan's Wake type shit, but at least giving it something that feels more powerful. So when you're having intense and say, characters say something just modern just in it. It just doesn't feel right. It doesn't sit right in the scene. Something it holds back a few
