I watched The Odyssey a couple days ago and in lieu of doing a review because I want to rewatch it again before I do a thorough one. I'm gonna rank the top five performances in The Odyssey that truly were breathtaking. Two that I were underwhelmed by and one that you really need to have your eye out for. First underwhelming performance I'll say is Robert Pattinson as, I hope I said his name correctly. But I don't know, I thought Robert Pattinson did a decent job. It's not the best I've seen of him and I think playing that sniveling little shit role, I kind of have done a again, no slights to Robert Pattinson, he's a great actor, but I was underwhelmed by what I saw from him. Another one is Lupita Nyong'o. She didn't do a bad job. I actually thought the role she was in was good, but we barely was on screen maybe five minutes combined. She played two characters. All over again, except imagine smoke and stack were for and that's it. Not quite the top five, but an honorable mention is Corey Hawkins, who was unnamed for some reason. He was basically the sidekick to Robert Pattinson's character. I actually liked more than Robert. He was a lot more dislikable and believable in my opinion. Getting into my top five, I have Tom Holland as Telemachus. I know a gonna be shocked Holland at number five, but don't get I still think really good job. Just that I character there should have him about how Telemachus goes on and I really don't see that. It is truly an Odysseus story. No issue with, but I wish cut up more Holland. No. 4, Samantha Morton as Circe. Really is not advertised as much. When you see her, it is, oh my god, the scene in introduced completely threw everybody including me and number three, Himesh Patel, that I'm struggling now. He was basically the second in command to Odysseus and wow, anytime screen, his presence was the best guy to play a. If I were someone by my side, him as Patel. Number two, I have Anne Hathaway as Penelope. I think Anne Hathaway gives a career best in this performance. Career best. The question is, is she going for lead or come award season? And no. 1, no one should be shocked by, but Matt Damon as Odysseus. He is an absolute powerhouse. Every single scene he is in, he embodies that true fight, the vigilance of a warrior and the solemnness of a man who is trying best. You see the trials and tribulations and though he is not a hard ass, where the emotion comes through and Matt Damon is just perfect at it. And an honorable mention to Benny Safdie as Agamemnon. Benny Safdie, guy who got his lunch money took in grade school. But in this movie, Christopher Nolan does the Lord's work at making him the most menacing character of the entire film. Anytime Agamemnon steps, which is really five minutes, the tide shifts, the atmosphere darkens. It's like the centerfold of the entire movie. Becomes the entire centerfold that he is truly aura farming the entire time, but perfectly done.
