Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
When I started Biu, getting cool influencers and well-known people to wear the jewelry was actually one of the easier parts. I'd literally just DM people, get all of their details, give them whatever they wanted. And honestly, they'd post it totally organically. But that was 2020 and things have now changed so much. Back then when I started and for a good while after, influencers and creators were really open to gifting. Literally all of these amazing people would wear Biu and made post about it. I think it's because the female founder movement was everywhere, everyone wanted to support small businesses. And it was actually really amazing. But now, all of these people, get so much free PR. And there is so much money in influence marketing because of how great it can be. So if I was starting video today, it's exactly what I do to try and get my jewelry on the right people. Firstly, don't expect anything in return. These creators get sent so much PR. To so many content creation and influencing is their full-time job. Expecting them to post is literally no different to asking someone at work to just do you an unpaid favor. It's a huge marketing channel and there's so much money in it. So being angry when someone you've literally just sent a present to doesn't post is completely useless. I totally understand that gifting is a huge expenditure for businesses, especially when you're starting out. And if it's not right for you, then that is so fair enough. And there are so many other marketing groups that you could use. Secondly, as I have done with Biu, focus on both an amazing product and an amazing unboxing experience. Everyone, creators or not, love an unboxing experience that's really unique and feels different to anything else. And looks so aesthetically pleasing. I have spent so much time, energy and money on making Biu's packaging, 10 out of 10. So it's so unbelievably post-worthy. People do post about it. And thirdly, I'd aim for smaller creatives to be If you're shooting your shot with people with hundreds of thousands of followers, the likelihood is they probably won't even see your message because they get so many messages. And when you contact people, make a little image of the best pieces and the best sellers and request any information you need, like their size, like their address, so that they can literally just reply to your message and you'll be able to get them. And then lastly, add a little note. In the earlier days of B you, every time anyone would accept gifting, I would literally add a hand to note, explaining that I was the founder and I'm so grateful that they're wearing the pieces because I genuinely am. And if they work to tag, which there's no pressure, who to tag. Now I have B and when she joined full time I'm after dropping out of uni. This is one of the first jobs that I gave her. And since then, which has probably been two years, she's been doing such an amazing job. So, I thought I'm going to ask her exactly what Biji does and exactly what we say to creators. In part two, so you guys don't have to guess.
