The fire station should be one of the best places you’ll ever work. Talk with your crew. Laugh. Build relationships. Give each other a hard time. That’s part of what makes this job special. But if that’s all you do for 24 hours... you’re missing an opportunity. Every shift gives you a choice. You can leave exactly the same as you showed up.
