10 frugal things I think everyone should try 1. Swap disposable for reusable Use cloths instead of paper towel, hankies instead of tissues, and reusable items wherever you can. Small changes add up. 2. Plan 7 meals and leave an “empty the fridge” night Before you shop again, use up leftovers, random veggies, and anything hiding at the back of the fridge. Less waste = more money saved. 3. Stop browsing shops without a purpose Kmart and Target are fun… until you walk out with $80 of things you didn’t need. Go in with a list, stick to it, or shop online if that helps. 4. Enjoy the free things around you Parks, beaches, walks, gardening, picnics, exploring nature — some of the best memories don’t cost a thing. 5. Check op shops and second-hand first Before buying something new, see if you can find it pre-loved. Clothes, books, furniture, toys and homewares are often waiting for a second life. 6. Join your local Buy Nothing or swap groups One person’s unwanted item can be exactly what someone else needs. It saves money and keeps things out of landfill. 7. Make simple DIY cleaning products You don’t need a cupboard full of expensive sprays. A few basic ingredients can clean most of your home. 8. Learn to repair before replacing Mend clothes, fix broken items, patch things up, learn basic sewing, gardening and handy skills. Being able to fix things is a superpower. 9. Grow something you eat Even a few herbs in pots can save money and make you appreciate where food comes from. 10. Buy less, but buy better Instead of constantly replacing cheap things, save for items you’ll use for years and actually love. Frugal living isn’t about never spending money — it’s about making sure your money goes towards the things that actually matter. #frugal #frugalliving #sustainable #mum #savingmoney
