The London Stock Exchange has now announced plans for round-the-clock trading. Right now, the London Stock Exchange trades 8:00 in the morning till 4:30 at night. But they're launching a night shift running from 5:00 p.m. to 7:50 a.m. all through the night. So a small pause for end-of-day processing. They're starting with exchange-traded products. Why are they doing this? Well, it all started with crypto. Crypto trading platforms have offered 24/7 trading for years. 24/7 trading. And platforms like Coinbase have a large traders in with this feature. And they're increasingly letting people trade stocks, too. Traditional exchanges are then feeling the pressure to have to compete with these crypto exchanges. Why did everything change but you? But I take that just coming to my head. Everything changes but you. Is it risky, you ask? Or maybe you didn't. Of course there are always going to be risks. But it's not the same volatility risks that you see with crypto, i.e., the price moving really up and down. These are still the same stock, just longer hours. Obviously, stocks can be volatile, too. Who will benefit the most from this change? It's actually traders in Asia because of the time difference, plus traders in London and Europe who want to trade more US stocks at more convenient times, basically. Worth watching if you invest internationally or if you invest here in the UK. Follow for more simple breakdowns and for how chaotic my makeup routine is. For the eagle-eyed girls out there, you will see I just smother my face in bronzer.
