Part 3, our raised beds are officially finished, and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out! In this final update, we added wood caps to make the structure even stronger while giving everything a clean, finished look. To help our plants during the hottest days of summer, I installed a water mist cooling and irrigation system that provides a gentle mist to help keep them cool. We also built a garden arch using Gauge Gray Steel Welded Wire Rolled Fencing for Garden, creating the perfect support for climbing flowers and vegetables. To finish it all off, I applied PolyWhey Exterior Penetrating Wood Stain, which brought out the natural beauty of the wood with a rich, warm color while helping protect it from moisture, UV rays, and the elements. I love that it adds a durable, water-resistant finish so these raised beds can last for years to come. Here is my long overdue recap of DIY Raised Beds. And I feel like I haven't given you guys an update on how the raised beds have been doing. So we did add wood caps to both of the raised beds to keep them together. They turned out so nice. This definitely made the structure more stronger. Then I did come across these water misters that I thought would be a good idea to add to the raised beds. Here I'm just laying out where I want each mister to be. And that was super helpful, so I knew where to put them. And I absolutely love it. It is actually really nice to be able to just mist the plants on really hot days. I'll show you guys shortly how it works once we put the plants in. Then I did a wood stain and I used a deck brush. The color Lakeside Cedar. It really did make the wood pop. I'm happy I did this because the wood was looking super dull. And now I definitely have the confidence that the wood is going to be able to last a little longer with this wood stain. And it did make it water resistant as well. So here's the holes hooked up to the mister and the mister works so good. How do you recommend getting this at Lidl? And then we decided to make our own DIY arch, which I'm so happy we did because it turned out so perfect for our space. This project definitely was a labor of love, but it was so worth it to see the final result. But we've learned so much during this whole process of building these beds. And we still have so much to learn along the way. So stay tuned you guys because this is one of many projects that we have going on in our backyard.
