5 plant items that I feel are completely worth the investment. Let's talk about it. Number one, adjustable plant shelves. I cannot tell you how many plant shelves I bought off Amazon that were cute, like this one, only to have to sell it later because my plants outgrew it. These you can buy at Home Depot, at Lowe's, any type of home improvement store. Brackets are adjustable so that you can move the shelf up and down as much or as little as you need to. Number two is definitely going to be quality grow lights. I swear by. I use the T5s, I also use the T8s. That is an example of the T8 up there. The newer versions are magnetic so you can stick them to the top of your cabinet. I also use some double-sided tape to put them underneath my shelves. I use it on all my alocasia and all my begonias. Number four is going to be a place to grow your plants that require high humidity. This one's really going to depend on how many plants you currently have or whether or not you plan on growing plants to sell. If you have a bunch of plants, I highly recommend a humidity cabinet. This is the Unicoli. I feel like the Unicoli is much superior to the Mill's Bell. I do have a few videos on why I love them so much and how I have it set up. If you don't want to go out and buy one, you can find two of the extra large for like $25 maybe. I have them linked if you want to check them out. Number five are definitely going to be self-watering pots. Anything with semi-hydro or if you have plants that are extra extra thirsty, I highly recommend self-watering pots. If they are clear, I highly recommend a self-watering pot. Of course, if you don't have a 3D printer or you don't feel like purchasing 3D prints, you can find an outer cup that will work and an inner cup to go in, such as something like this. Now I know someone out there is going to say, is all of this really necessary? I believe yes it is. I've spent and wasted money on shelving that I ended up having to sell for a loss or give away. I've spent a lot of money on cheap grow lights that ended up not doing anything for my plants. Trying to keep the ambient humidity in my room where it needs to be, especially during the winter, now that I have a larger plant room, it's extremely challenging. Investing in a cabinet or those acrylic boxes, if you don't have humidity living plants, definitely not a necessity. But I think it was a very worthwhile purchase on my end for what I do. I grow plants and I sell them, as well as I grow plants for my own enjoyment. Hopefully this helps you rethink any type of purchases that you want to make. If you have any questions, as always, drop them in the comments. Happy growing.
