Everyone makes this one mistake when putting plants into semi-hydro. The number one mistake people make when putting their plants into semi-hydro is using the wrong fertilizer. Because semi-hydro has no organic matter, they actually need a couple extra ingredients in the fertilizer. Mainly calcium and magnesium because they're not getting that from the substrate. I switched to the Grow Queen fertilizer because you can pretty much use it for any plant whether it's in soil or semi-hydro and it's rich in silica which actually helps strengthen the cell walls of your plant so you don't get this browning on your variegated plants. So if you want some big beautiful semi-hydro plants like some of my Alocasia back there, I definitely recommend Grow Queen fertilizer or just do your research on fertilizers and make sure it has all of those extra ingredients your semi-hydro plants need.
