Viral skincare my rosacea hates and what products I'd use instead. Because I'm a licensed esthetician with rosacea type one and type two, so I know what I'm talking about. Starting with the scariest product, the Medicube Zero Pore Pads. Unless you have a death wish for your skin, don't use this product if you have rosacea. This product completely destroyed my skin barrier. There's BHA and too many AHA chemical exfoliants in this product, making it too harsh for rosacea as well as fragrance. So there's just so many ingredients that don't mix well with rosacea prone skin. Instead, I recommend using the Anua Heartleaf 77% PHA toner pads. Just like the Medicube Zero Pore Pads, they're also a toner pad. And they also help with congestion and acne, similar to the Zero Pore Pads, but instead of using AHA and BHA, they use a PHA, which is the most gentle form of chemical exfoliants on the market and very suitable for rosacea prone skin. Next, La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5. You guys, this product also destroyed my skin barrier. I'm just someone who cannot use shea butter. It irritates my rosacea and it's too occlusive and too heavy. And this product has shea butter in it. And as soon as I used it, my rosacea was screaming at me. So instead, I highly recommend using the Avene Cicaplast Restorative Protective cream. Similar product, but very different ingredients. These ingredients are a lot more gentle and work in a similar way where they both help to support your skin barrier and heal your skin barrier. And lastly, BYOMA's Phyto-Melanin Glow Serum. I was so sad that this product didn't work on my skin. As soon as I used it, I broke out in rosacea pustules all over my face. I'm not exactly sure what caused the irritation on my face. I think it's botanical extracts because my rosacea does not like plant extracts, it causes a lot of irritation on my face. I also talked to a lot of people who have rosacea and they said this product also irritated their skin. But instead, if you want a product that gives your skin similar hydration has a similar texture, I recommend using the Nyx Beta-Glucan Power Moisture Serum. It's very similar to the BYOMA product. This also has like a snail mucin texture. It gives your skin a ton of hydration and it also gives your skin that glass like glow look that the BYOMA does.
