What is Latina power? I'm glad you asked. Latinas contributed 1.3 trillion dollar power. Yes, that's what US Latinas contribute to the economy. In fact, the total economic output of US Latinas surpasses the GDP of most states. There are approximately 34 million Latinas in the United States. That's one in five women. Latinas make up the second-largest group of women workers in the United States, after white women. There are 12.8 million Hispanic women in the job force and that number is just projected to grow. But that's not it. 86% of Latinas are the primary shoppers in our households. That means we are deciding what gets bought: groceries, insurance, any type of financial products, pretty much every category. Latina-owned businesses are growing faster than any other businesses. And we are doing all of this while holding only 1% of C-suite positions, receiving just 39% of the business financing we actually ask for, and getting paid 58 cents for every dollar paid to a white non-Hispanic man doing the same work. We are not a niche market. We influence the economy, the culture, the business, the politics, and the consumer decisions. And this power has many, many faces.
