✅Bio to get your child swimming independently this summer! No matter where you’re starting, fearful toddler, 3-7 year old, this is the progression you need. Starting from a few weeks old of course makes it easiest, but this is the natural progression of any person becoming safe in the water. Non reactivity to water, established with a verbal cue. Proper opportunities in the pool. Always swimming with mom and dad, and anyone will have their child swimming. If you have spent too much time in the flotation, you need to take a step back, and get your child non reactive to water, so you can get their posture in the water horizontal. If you have been celebrating kicks, and encouraging that, do not mention them any more. To become safe in the water the child must be able to glide, and rotate onto their back. They need their legs to be straight and light. They need to develop elementary back stroke to stay in motion. They need to conserve their energy and breath, to maintain their buoyancy.
