There's a big account, she's also from Toronto and she makes content about her life as someone who has no friends and tries to normalise that type of lifestyle. And I preach like being like having fun solo and being alone is okay. But I wanna just say like, for, for like a period of time, it's okay. But you do need friends. Like I understand that myself right now when I say I don't have close friends, I'm not proud of the fact that I don't have close friends, right? I'm embarrassed to admit it because I do want close friends. I understand and recognise how important that is for my health, for my well-being. And just like living a fulfilling life for someone as big of an account as her, who like kind of makes me when I watch her stuff, it comforts me because I'm like, oh, it's nice to know, you know, I'm not the only one without friends. But it's also very important that I understand that that's not forever. Her content kinda normalizes a life where you'd never have friends, which I think is very dangerous. And anyone out there, like, please be weary, like, you do need friends and you do need social connections to live a healthy life. This is scientifically proven. TikTok and social media, online communities give us a sense of connection online, but that can never replace the human connections we build. Like in real life. Don't confuse online connection with real life social connection. The rewards of having a friend, even just one or two, it makes a huge impact, like positive impact on your life, on your health, on your mental well-being. So, uh, just be very wary of watching content like hers and thinking it's normal to like not put in the effort to put yourself out there in the world and like build friends and connections and community, cause you do need to. And while it may be hard and uncomfortable, especially for people who are socially burnt out like myself and have gone through, you know, past trauma with friendships, learn from that, right? Like take that trauma and, like use that as motivation to better yourself and like look for ways to improve yourself to find better connections and be the person who's deserving of those things. Like, I watch her content that, cause it comes up on my for you page and it worries me that like, oh, I hope people don't take that and think that's like completely normal and like is okay. And I hope she's okay too. Like, I hope she doesn't think she never needs friends. And I hope she puts in the effort to build friends one day. Like that can't be your life forever. You can't live in isolation.
