God keeps you single for one reason — and it's written in the very first story about man and woman. In Genesis 2, before God ever gave Adam a wife, He gave him a garden. A job. A purpose. "The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden to work it and keep it" (Genesis 2:15). Adam had something to build before he had someone to love. And here's the part that'll wreck you: when it was finally time, God put Adam into a deep sleep — and formed the woman while he rested. Adam didn't hunt her down. He didn't force it. God did the work behind the scenes, in a place Adam couldn't see or control, and then brought her to him (Genesis 2:21–22). Let me be clear — I'm not saying there's one magic soulmate with your name on her. I'm saying what the text actually says: God gives a man purpose before a partner, and God does the bringing. So if you're in a season of waiting, stop reading it as punishment. Tend your garden. Become the man. Do the work in front of you — and trust what God is building behind you while you can't see it. If you want to learn how to become that man — follow.
