I grew up with pretty wealthy parents and it made it quite hard for me to mature and become an adult. And what I mean by that is when I was a kid, I had everything I wanted, got to do anything I wanted to do, anything I wanted at the store, I got it. You know, we weren't super, super rich, but there were no money problems ever at all. And so I remember when I was young, my dad always like trying to teach me the value of a dollar, did not compute. I mean, it really didn't compute because I just didn't understand that other people didn't have the same amount of money. I just thought everybody's life was like mine. And on top of that, my mom was very smart and on top of everything and I don't want to say micromanaged, but she took care of everything in my life for me. And so as I got older, in high school and college, it started to become a problem because I didn't know how to do anything for myself. Like everything was always taken care of for me. And so I kind of just fumbled through life, my mom doing everything and I'm a pretty smart person, so I was able to compensate in school and stuff like that. But I remember getting older, like later in high school and college, and being in this friends who all knew how to like do everything like an adult, like checking their email, taking care of themselves, they knew how to do all these things like taxes and stuff. And I didn't know anything. I didn't know anything. I got out of college and basically had this instantaneous moment of realization where I was like, oh, I've got to go do something. It all worked out, luckily, luckily, of course, probably because of all the advantages I had to begin with. But I don't know if anybody else has had this experience. Maybe it's just me because I'm an idiot. But I just say this because I sometimes forget how incapable I was at one point. As somebody who's pretty intelligent, there's a point where I looked around me, saw my friends who all knew how to like do everything like an adult, and I didn't know anything. And it was because I had such an advantaged childhood. lol, I was so immature that checking email seemed like an "adult thing" to me
