Nobody Told Me This Before I Started Cybersecurity...

I honestly get excited every time somebody tells me they wanna get into cybersecurity cause I just know how much it can change your life. But I also know how overwhelming it can feel in the beginning. I remember sitting there watching YouTube videos after YouTube videos, uh, just thinking, where do I even start? One person even said, I need to learn Python. Another said I need a degree. Someone else said I need like 10 certifications before I even apply for a job. It honestly felt just impossible. But here's actually what you don't have to know everything to get started. You don't have to be an amazing coder. You don't have to have a college degree. And while certifications like Network Plus, Security Plus can absolutely help, they're not the only path into the industry. The one thing I would recommend is focus on building a strong foundation. Learn how computers work, understand networking, get familiar with things like Windows, Linux, Active Directory, and cloud platforms like Azure, AWS. That's the stuff that gives you confidence.
