I get hundreds if not thousands of DMs being like, oh my gosh Charlotte, how did you get abs? What's your ab routine? So if I was starting all over, here's exactly what I would do to build washboard abs. Okay, I feel like this kind of goes without saying, but you have to be a relatively low body fat percentage or you have to be in some sort of deficit because that's when you'll actually see definition. You seriously have to be doing weighted exercises. Even if you're just doing a mat routine, add a dumbbell, add a plate because when you add weight, that's when your muscles actually start to grow. Finally, you have to be training the ab muscle group. You have to be using progressive overload and you have to be going up in weight as time goes on and actually pushing yourself in the exercises that you're doing. My favorite ab exercises would definitely be cable crunches, hanging leg raises, which you can add weight and then weighted decline sit-ups are so good for your abs. But there's still so many good mat exercises that you can be doing as long as you're actually pushing yourself.
