Here is your four step plan to turn $50 a week into $1.4 million of tax free money. And this is the most important financial move most people never make. I'm Tyler. I'm a former financial advisor and portfolio manager. And now I make financial content for free so you don't have to pay for it. Number one, open a Roth IRA. You don't have to fund it today. You don't have to decide anything today. Just open the account. Fidelity, Schwab or Vanguard. It takes five minutes and you're done. Number two, now link your bank account to the Roth and set up a $50 automatic weekly contribution. And I don't care what you have to do to get this fifty dollars a week. Mow a lawn on a Saturday morning, babysit a kid on a Friday night, or open a freaking lemonade stand as a 40 year old for all I care. Because once again, this is the most important financial decision you will ever make. No excuses. Get the 50 bucks a week into the Roth. Number three. Now this is where most people screw it up. You don't wanna be most people. When the money hits the Roth it usually just sits there in cash. You have to invest the money. You could buy a growth fund like Vanguard's VUG Or an S&P 500 fund like Fidelity's FXAIX This is how your money is then projected To grow in the future. And No. 4. And at a 7% real rate of return. that's post inflation. After 40 years you'll be projected to have approximately $1.4 million. And because it's a Roth, you will pay zero taxes on it when you take it out if you're over 59.5 years old. No. 5. And this is the pro tip nobody tells you. If you ever needed that money back, the money you contributed, you can take it out at any time, penalty and tax free even before 59.5. Roth is the most flexible retirement account in the tax code and most people never even open one. And if any of this is helpful, sign up for my free weekly newsletter by clicking the link in my bio.
