Trying to find the best burger in the Triangle. Episode 4: Standard Beer + Food. We are at Standard Beer + Food and I'm going into this research. This one might be my favorite. And if there's one thing they know how to do here, it is consistency. I have had this burger so many times and every single time it has tasted the same and been up to the same quality standard. So this one is a smash burger with two patties, griddled onions, American cheese, pickles, pops, Russian sauce on a potato bun. This burger is very messy and I find that to be a sign of a good burger. Even though the patties are smashed, they're still very juicy. The flavors and toppings are well balanced. Love how the potato bun has some smash. I think the potato bun is a great vehicle for a burger and, and because it's soft and simple, lets the burger be the star. It rings up at $16 and does come with fries. This is my burger. And it is well worth the money in my opinion.
