THINGS THAT HAPPENED in Russian schools that I think would send Americans into a coma. Coming from somebody who studied in Moscow for five years. Your handwriting had to be really neat and you were not allowed to scratch out words if you made a mistake. Which was kind of hard to do because we had to write in pens. If your handwriting was too messy, the teacher would rip all your notebook and make you rewrite the whole thing. And guess what handwriting looked like absolute. They were so obsessive of everything looking neat. And it doesn't matter if you're an 8-year-old. Your homework doesn't look like court documents. It's going in the trash. You're here was longer than a Bob. You were not allowed to have a down. It either had to be braided or at least in a pony tail. And I absolutely hated brushing my hair because it hurt so bad. I would literally shriek out my mother to leave me the fuck alone. So when my home room teacher saw me with my hair down, she would tell me that she take a pair of scissors and chop it off. But I literally did not care because I was a badass little kid. What I would do is make a loose pony tail when I had her class and then literally untyated her. Coming into school, you had to have a different pair of shoes. They would literally not let in the school to spread all the dirt and sawdust because there's quite a lot of it in Moscow especially during winter. So if you forgot your, they would make you wear foggy shoe covers. Does that look like you're going to be walking around in sneakers in January when it's minus 20? You have to wear one of those. Also, we had a bunch of different locker rooms for kids to change out of their clothes and change their outside shoes obviously. So if somebody was mad at you, they could easily hide your shoes in one of those locker rooms and Good luck finding them. Not going to lie, I definitely hit my own share of gym sneakers and the same thing was done to me too. It is very common to study in the same place all the way from grade to high school. So people that you meet in elementary school, you're pretty much stuck with them. I until you graduate. Obviously, unless you decide to transfer or choose a different study specialty, but that's all the way in high school. When it was your birthday, you had to bring candy for your entire class and spread it around for all of your classmates to be. No, it doesn't matter that it's your birthday. You are the one who's doing the gift giving. So don't understand it till this day, but I really looked forward to people's birth. I actually love going to school in Russia and hated going to school here in America. Let me know if you want to hear more stories.
