Everyone is obsessed with hooks. Nobody is talking about the actual story. In TV, you don’t get to open with your best guess at what will grab someone. You open with your strongest soundbite, the moment that actually happened, because that’s what the story is. Social media borrowed the word “hook” and turned it into a formula.
