I installed a 12v mini-split air conditioner on my shed! This is a 12 volt semi truck parking air conditioner that I just installed on the side of my shed. I bought it last summer and installed it on my boat. It was about $300. It's literally $240 on walmart.com right now. I've had it installed over there on my RV. Right now it is in the shed. I will be running some solar tests with it to see how much solar I can run it off of. But it's in here. It pulls 800 watts and about 60 amps when it's running at full power. I'm going to run some tests pretty soon and I'm going to see how much it compares to that 110 volt mini split. So this is a 10,000 or 11,000 BTU mini split. And I know that one, when it starts up, it'll pull 1200 watts. This one has never pulled more than 800. So it's going to be a good going to be a good head-to-head test. This one gets power through the shed, so it's not powered by house power. So I'll be able to do side-by-side testing with some batteries here pretty soon. And then I'll add in solar. So for anyone who wanted to see a 12 volt mini split versus a 110 volt mini split. Just stay tuned. The next couple weeks I'll be running some good tests. And then I'll add in solar.
