You guys ask for it so the beta version of my mod is out now. If you guys don't already know, my mod is Vanilla Progression. It completely changes how the Minecraft progression system works. You can no longer go from a wooden pickaxe straight to a stone pickaxe. You now have to complete quests in each age to have access to the next resource.
