Selling software in Kenya is haaaard! Doesn't matter whether a big or small, it's just a difficult business. Especially the SMEs. Been in the industry for, you know, a long long period of time. And many of them make conclusions. See, it's very hard to sell software in Kenya. First of all, whether it's a mobile app or web app, still people think it's a website, right? So, you know, selling a software in Kenya is something you can just download, you know, for free and run with it. So it's hard. It's very hard. To sell, you know, a piece of software in Kenya. So, you know, the Kenyan mindset is, you know, buy X, make Y, imagine, you know, run with it. We don't have, you know, long-term, you know, goal or commitment to grow the business. And I think most businesses, especially in SMEs, most of the time, it's just survival. Sometimes me, I'll see, you know, my colleagues, they suggest, or let's make an app for us to be able to, you know, get an apartment, or, you know, book a matatu. Or, you know, let's make an app to book a matatu. But most of these solutions that we are trying to, you know, think about, system, software, it has to plug into the culture, right? A person who uses a mat, you know, they'll go, shower, and go to stage, and, you know, get a mat and go to where they are going. Tell them, you know, go to an app, you know, you're not integrating into the culture. The other thing, culture of, you know, the Kenyan culture, it's not, you know, well-streamlined. We don't keep time, we don't have, you know, structures. So for me, I believe systems or any piece of technology should be able to plug into the needs, right? Selling software in Kenya is very, very hard. I don't know what you guys think, but most businesses, most people do not attach value of the software to the business.
