One of the most destructive secret lessons that the public school system teaches is something I call delayed ambition. So they teach math, science, history, English, the core subjects and pretty much nothing else. But what is the secret cost of this structure? The only real goal of the public school system is to make sure your child has a transcrit. So they're eligible to take out loans so they can go to college, send in a resume and spend their life climbing a corporate ladder. So they go to school five days a week for seven hours a day, raise their hand to go to the bathroom, follow the bells and go from 1:45 minute block to the next to the next. And what they're really learning, the secret lesson is the habits of an employee because they're being taught that they should delay pursuing their ambitions until they reach adulthood. So what they'll tell you is that you could do something like go to business school. And after $100,000 in debt at about 23 to 25 to 27 years old, you could try to do something in the real world. And what I would argue is that life should be business school. Follow his or her interest from the time they're little, empower them to take ownership over their education. Let them read the books they want to read. Do research projects on the things they want to research. art, majestic stands, photography businesses, write books. I have a 15-year-old student that's published four books and another student that's published a couple herself, start a landscaping business and by doing this, your child will develop the habits of freedom and independence because business school is nice. By the time your kid gets there, they've spent their entire childhood developing the habits of an employee. And really all they did was this stuff. They don't even focus on the development of skills. So really they spend their first 18 years developing the habits of dependence. And all I'm saying is that you as a parent should focus on developing the habits of freedom and independence because we could prepare our children so much better for real world success.
