When you bring your puppy home, I believe the first thing you should always teach them is their name. So it's really easy to teach Cookie. All you need to do is grab a treat or just kibble, that's what we feed her. Say their name, and as soon as they look at you, mark yes and give them a treat. When you've done that 5 to 10 times, they've got it. They'll look at you every single time because they know a treat's coming. So try stage two, distract them. So play with them, and then again, say their name. Cookie. Yes. She stopped and looked at me straight away. I think to first move commands, their first. So I'll always say Cookie, stay or Cookie, come. So teach their name first, and then you can move on to something else. Remember, I'm not an expert, I'm just sharing what worked for us.
