I Spent ₱43,000
on This Printer...
Biggest Regret 😭
This is the Epson L18050. I bought it back in November 2023 for around ₱29,000 because I thought it would be my dream A3 photo printer.
The first year was okay.
Then I noticed the print colors became darker and weren't as accurate anymore.
I tried every print setting, print head alignment, color calibration, and even reinstalled the printer driver but the output was still the same.
So I switched back to using my old A4 Epson printer for my everyday printing and only used the L18050 whenever I needed to print A3 photos.
Then, right after the 2 year warranty ended February 2026
The printer suddenly stopped printing.
The technician suddenly said both the printhead and motherboard needed to be replaced.
Repair cost: ₱13,800
I thought everything was finally okay after the repair...
Until this month.
It started having a paper feeding issue. I replaced the pickup rollers/feed pads, cleaned everything, and tried different fixes but it still wouldn't feed paper properly.
Now it has completely stopped working. 😥
At this point, I don't know if it's still worth repairing or if I should just buy a new printer.
I messaged the technician and unfortunately the warranty for the replacement parts has already expired. If it's the same issue again, I might have to replace the printhead and motherboard all over again which could cost me another ₱13,000+.
After spending almost ₱43,000 on the printer and repairs, I'm honestly disappointed.
Can anyone recommend a reliable and durable A3 photo printer? 😥
I'm thinking of switching to Canon this time.
