Why it worked

The video taps into the relatable experience of moving out and furnishing a new apartment, using popular stores like IKEA and Kmart. The creator's personal narrative and the inclusion of a companion add a layer of authenticity and engagement, while the focus on practical shopping makes it aspirational for viewers in similar life stages.

Summary

The creator documents their first solo apartment shopping trip, starting at IKEA to buy essentials like kitchenware and home decor. After not finding a suitable couch, they visit another furniture store which is too expensive, and then head to Kmart for more home goods and appliances. The video concludes with the creator and their companion satisfied with their purchases.

MOVING OUT OF HOME episode 1 MOVING OUT OF HOME episode 1 MOVING OUT OF HOME episode 1 So I'm moving out in less than seven days and I pretty much only have a bed at TV and a makeup desk. So I definitely have a lot on my apartment shopping list. And the first stop was IKEA. I grew up coming to IKEA with my mum. It was my favourite place to go. And I can't believe that this time around I'm actually shopping for my own little home. We tested out a few little couches because we definitely need a good quality couch. We didn't love the couches at IKEA, but they did have some really amazing kitchen supplies. I really wanted that little Meerkat, but I thought no. we need to save our money. We're moving out. We need to be adults now. We stuck to the necessities. We got some glasses, some little kitchen towel. I would say our IKEA shop was definitely a success. But guys, I do not remember the IKEA hot dogs looking this questionable. Like what even is that? Anyways, next stop was looking at some more couches. This place was absolutely beautiful, but it was just way out of our price range. If you guys have any couch suggestions, please let us know because we are struggling in this department. The sushi was exactly what I needed to give me a little pick me up for our afternoon shopping because the next stop was Kmart and this is my favourite shopping destination ever. I saw these Solomon Jubes and I was actually cracking up because I look so identical. But anyways, we got a toaster, a kettle, tea towels, a rice cooker, all the little essentials. I would say today was definitely a success. So stay tuned for more moving out updates. Bye.
